The No Shame: This Way Forward project is based on a ‘holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, human right, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action’. It has been designed from a strength-based model, not a deficit model.

Participants who complete the training or who have a conversation about family violence will be given a badge.

The Literature Review

  • Represents a snapshot of evidence-based interventions to prevent family violence in Aboriginal communities.
  • Provides a background for practitioners who seek to learn more about culturally sensitive programs, services and primary prevention activities.
  • Has informed the guide and video which can be a useful resource for workers engaging in culturally sensitive work.

WHGNE and Watnanda Consulting will host No Shame: This Way Forward train the trainer and community conversation sessions on the following dates.

Our Train the Trainer sessions are specifically designed for practitioners to build confidence and skills in the use of the culturally sensitive No Shame: This Way Forward family violence prevention program.

Our Community Conversation sessions are open to members of the public who wish to start culturally sensitive conversations on family violence prevention in their communities.
