Today is Day Three in the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. Violence against women includes a range of behaviours used to exert power and control. Violence against women can include physical, sexualised, emotional, psychological, spiritual, religious, technological and financial abuse. Intimate partner violence is considered a subset of family violence. Behaviour can include limiting access to finances, preventing communication with family and friends, being demeaning and humiliating, making threats to women and their children and acts of physical violence.
